Canihua (baby quinoa, organic) - 25kg
Canihua (pronounced ka-ni-wah) is the ‘new’ super grain from the Andes. Referred to as ‘baby quinoa’, canihua has an equally impressive nutrition profile, with the added benefit of having no saponin (the soapy coating found in many plants which has a slightly bitter flavour, if not rinsed properly). This wheat-free, naturally gluten-free grain is easy to digest and is among the least allergenic foods available. Canihua can be prepared and used in recipes the same way as quinoa.
TO COOK: In a pot, put in a cup of canihua with two cups of water or stock (for added flavour), cover and bring to the boil. Reduce heat to simmer until all liquid is absorbed, about 15-20 minutes.
